The Story Letter Podcast, Episode 2: The story about the wolf
The truth is an educational wolf. It's a metaphor, but also it's literally true?
Hi friends!
This week's Story Letter podcast episode is here:
Episode 2: Which Story Should You Tell?
Feeling blocked about which story to tell? I’ve got you. Learn why the “most dramatic” story isn’t always the best one to tell, and discover how to pick the stories that matter to YOU. Plus, I’ll share how one of my very first storytelling performances taught me a lesson about being “myself.”
I loved doing this episode because I just love remembering my student Laszlo. Also, my tallest soapbox is that you don’t have to be tragic or sensational to have a story worth telling, and that’s what we’re exploring here.
I ran into Laszlo at a student’s Bat Mitzvah 5 years after we said goodbye. He was SO tall, and we talked about video games. He was studiously casual with me, which I appreciated. It was pretty much everything I ever wanted in a reunion with a former student.
This week’s prompt:
Start with things that matter to YOU, not just with things you think people would find interesting. Then think about who you might tell your story to, where you’ll be, and what you’d like to do with your story.
